Daisy Buchanan

Daisy Buchanan - Daisy Buchanan is the love of Gatsby's life, and whom he is trying to win back from Tom Buchanan. Daisy is also Nick Carraways second cousin. Daisy is laid back and gentle. She does not have a very strong will and she cracks under pressure in the hotel scene late in the book. When Daisy was younger Gatsby and her were in some kind of relationship that ended because Gatsby could not afford the way she was used to living. Gatsby left in search of something. While he traveled looking for a way to make Daisy his own, Tom Buchanan bought Daisy's hand in marrige with a Three hundred thousand Pearl necklace. Daisy and Tom have a child named Pammy who is three at the time of this story. Daisy has changed over the years which poses quite a problem to Gatsby who believes she is the same old Daisy.
